Power up your AI knowledge this summer.
Virtual Course for High School and College Students:
The Bowers Summer AI course for high school students will return in Summer 2027.
Dive into the transformative world of artificial intelligence! Open to high school and college students, this course teaches students from any background how AI works and how to use it effectively.
Students will learn how modern AI systems work, demystifying the models behind chatbots, agents, image generators, and more. Through hands-on activities and projects, they will also learn how to use AI effectively in domains of their own interest. Finally, students will develop a critical lens for evaluating AI's societal impact and risks, learning to understand, assess, and mitigate emerging ethical and technical challenges such as environmental impacts, misinformation and synthetic media, algorithmic accountability and transparency, and security vulnerabilities.
Students will also have the opportunity to pursue a large project of their own design. Past student projects have included building specialized study tools, creating dashboards on topics of interest, and developing data analysis pipelines. With guidance from experienced staff, students will learn how to use AI effectively and responsibly to build their own AI-powered workflows and tools in pursuit of their passions.
