Beginning in Fall 2027, the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science will offer two online master's degree programs in artificial intelligence designed for working professionals seeking to deepen their expertise.

Sixty undergraduates from the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science participated in this year’s Bowers Undergraduate Research Experience (BURE). The 10-week, paid summer program lets undergraduate students do real-world research alongside their choice of roughly 40 participating Bowers faculty and their graduate students.

The Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science added 13 faculty members as part of the 2025-2026 recruiting season, strengthening the college’s expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, interactive technologies, human-AI interaction, and more. Of the 13 hires, eight will join the Department of Computer Science; three will join the Department of Statistics and Data Science, and two will join the Department of Information Science.

Giulia Guidi, assistant professor of computer science, will use her award to expand large-scale computation capabilities. Aditya Vashistha, assistant professor of information science, will use his award to investigate how people share information and govern their communities in social media platforms designed for private groups. Y. Samuel (Sam) Wang, assistant professor of statistics and data science will use his award to develop theory and methods that broaden the empirical use of causal discovery.
